The current highlight and greatest influence of my life so far is getting to play in the Ohio State Marching Band. Part of what drives me in my work in music is the possibility that I can make some things that could live up to the prestige of the best marching band in the world.
After winning the Sugar Bowl in 2014
I first decided I wanted to be in music during my first semester at Terra State Community College in 2011. During a class, after I had played a recording of a piece I wrote, one of the students in the room sang the tune back.
It's that feedback that I enjoy the most, knowing that you’ve been heard. Even if I'm not the one who wrote it, if I can be a part of a piece of music that makes people respond, or even better lend a helping hand, that's enough for me.
